It will be an extra long night tonight at City Council, and they are starting early, so if you care to participate, remember that the regular meeting starts at 5:30 PM rather than the normal 6:30 PM!

But before that, there is a Closed Session to discuss two lawsuits–one on the Rent Stabilization Fee and another on a property on Croft–as well as undisclosed anticipated litigation at 5 PM.

For the the 5:30 PM Special Session meeting, here is the Agenda… Hot topics include…

  • Item 2N: Center City Traffic Calming – proposed measures to help calm traffic on side streets between Fairfax and La Cienega
  • Item 2V: Resolution on SB 827 – proposed resolution opposing SB 827 (Weiner), which would effectively re-zone the entire City of West Hollywood and allow for much higher density
  • Item 4A: Fountain Avenue – After rejecting a “road diet” for Fountain Avenue, the Council will consider other traffic calming measures for the City’s third-busiest East-West arterial
  • Item 5A: Cannabis Lobbying – If approved, this would prohibit cannabis-related businesses, applicants and their agents from having any contact with members of the Cannabis Application Evaluation Committee or Business License Commission.

Following the 5:30 PM special meeting, the City Council will hold a 7 PM Study Session on Homelessness.

Council and the Public will hear from staff and other agencies about what is being done and can be done and discuss a path forward to address one of the most pressing issues in West Hollywood.

If you have something to say on these issues–or anything else nothing you in West Hollywood–show up tonight and give public comment in the Council Chambers on the first floor of the Library Building.
