It’s a busy week for news along what Eater LA is now describing as “WeHo Row”…
Beaches is set to open next Friday, February 2nd in the former Skynny Kitchen, though in Eater’s version of events. Former Skynny Kitchen owner Matt Flinn and Fiesta manager Logan Carta are not mentioned…. “Owner John Bakalar opens the bar with Aidan Demarest, whose consulting firm, Aidan Demarest Group, will provide support. Both are former Edison alumni.”
We’ve never heard it called “WeHo Row,” and considering that Eater also says that the alleyway behind Mother Lode is known as “Robertson Lane,” we must consider the source. “Robertson Lane” is the name of the hotel project bidding to restore and reuse the Factory Nightclub building as a hotel a block to the West.
In other news, it looks like David Cooley was downtown yesterday!
Whilst dining at Bottega Louie, Cooley was approached by actress Helen Hunt, who was admiring his “Make America Gay Again” hat and took a snapshot!
Cooley, who owns The Abbey and The Chapel at The Abbey, had planned to open Cooley’s on the same stretch of Santa Monica Boulevard with SBE until buying the Abbey from the nightlife and hotel group and Cooley’s has since morphed into a future West Hollywood location of… Bottega Louie!
Hopefully, Cooley was downtown meeting with the Bottega Louie folks to figure out how to get construction back on track and open soon!
Between Beaches and Bottega is Lisa Vanderpump’s THIRD WeHo venue, TomTom’s, on which she is, according to the “Vanderpump Rules” TV show plot, partnering with cast members and totally straight guys, Tom Schwartz and Tom Sandoval.
We are going to predict a mid-May opening for TomTom’s for two reasons: 1) so that its grand opening can coincide with filming for a not-yet-announced Season 7 of Vanderpump Rules; and, 2) so they can make the most of their back patio, which will offer the BEST views of the LA Pride Festival in early June.
