Looking for something to do on Wednesday night? Do you love supporting new artists and LGBT film?

The City of West Hollywood has you covered.

Join the City, Outfest and Showtime in City Council Chambers for a screening of Contracorriente (Undertow) starting at 7:30 PM as part of the Outfest West Hollywood Series on Wednesday, September 6th.

In celebration of Outfest’s Screenwriting Lab 20th Anniversary and in conjunction with PST:LA/LA, Outfest is excited to present the award-winning and critically-acclaimed film – Contracorriente (Undertow). Writer-director Javier Fuentes-León’s feature film debut was Peru’s official submission for the Oscar’s Best Foreign Picture the year the film came out.

Bound to a tradition that forbids his love to another man, Miguel (Cristian Mercado) is forced to live a secret life that, when exposed, threatens to dismantle his family and circle of friends. Miguel’s passionate and steamy affair with local painter Santiago sates his sexual desires, but he is torn between his duty to his wife and his love for Santiago. After a tragic accident, Miguel must come to terms with his contradictory feelings, building a bold declaration of love that will set free Santiago and himself, and transform the village.

Join writer-director Javier Fuentes-León in a Q&A after the film.

Tickets are FREE and you should get them online while you can and, if possible, you are encouraged to make a donation to Outfest to support other up-and-coming artists.
