Just three days ago, Houston’s LGBT Center, the Montrose Center, asked for help funding hurricane relief efforts for their 35,000 clients affected by Harvey and its flooding.

When we told you about their request on Monday afternoon, they had raised just $4,000.

Yesterday, after viral efforts from drag queens like Kennedy Davenport and Vicky Vox, and support from around the country, Montrose Center had raised $69,000 by mid-afternoon.

It’s only been a couple days now, and we can report that gays and lesbians from around the country have given more than $214,000 to help out LGBT victims of Hurricane Harvey!!!

That’s amazing!

The LGBT Community really is one big family and we help each other in times of need.

Surely, even $200,000 won’t be enough to meet all the Montrose Center’s needs so if you can, PLEASE keep giving and sharing with your friends!

UPDATE: Bar10 WeHo has committed to giving 20% of today’s sales to help Harvey’s LGBT victims. So eat A LOT of oysters!!!
