Four years after the WeHo Pickup started service along Santa Monica Boulevard, the weekend entertainment trolley has been so successful that it has expanded to Sundays and Holidays and lengthened from Fairfax to La Brea.

Now, the City of West Hollywood wants to replicate the success of the WeHo Pickup by taking it to the Sunset Strip.

One of the Hot Topics on the City Council Agenda tonight would test a pilot project of a Sunset Strip entertainment shuttle between March and August of 2018.

The proposed route would run counter-clockwise between Fairfax and Doheny, looping on its Eastern end down to Fountain and on the Western end down to Melrose.

Looking at the route map, it might make sense to add stops at Robertson and Melrose to allow for easier access to SUR and The Abbey, as well as at Nemo and Doheny for people going to the Troubador.

If adopted, the trolley would connect the hotels along Sunset Strip with Historic Boystown, making it easier for those German and Australian tourists to get their gay on or for the Gays to head up and grab a bite at the new Wahlburger’s coming to Sunset Plaza this fall.
