Some of the most popular television shows in the US actually got their start across the pond. Queer as Folk and American Idol both were inspired by British shows before becoming staples of American TV. Top Gear and the Great British Bake Off have inspired, well let’s say less-inspiring American versions.

But now it looks like American TV show may be heading the other direction. After nine seasons in the US, it looks like we may soon be seeing a British version of RuPaul’s Drag Race!

Michelle Visage spilled the scoop during the recent DragWorld UK convention, as reported by GayTimes UK:

“Here’s the situation – this is the real God’s honest truth – if it does happen, it’s going to be with me and RuPaul so just know that.

“There will be no-one else – it’s RuPaul’s Drag Race and you speak English so we don’t have to worry about the translation. And I will be there. Sorry Katie Price – that’s my gig.

“We’re getting closer, but here’s the thing with the television situation here. I think commissioners don’t watch the show.

She concluded that, “It’s going to happen.”

Taking Drag Race overseas will definitely expand the pool of potential contestants, which can only be a plus.

Drag Race already partners with TruTV in the U.K. and in 2015 crowned a U.K. Ambassador for the show.
