Wishing you’d gone to San Diego Pride this weekend?  Get over it because you’d have missed everything that’s happening in and around West Hollywood today!

Go West…

OK, so technically, Santa Monica isn’t West Hollywood, but the beach city has been trying hard to lure the Gays back to its shores.

The Friendship and Marix Playa are distant memories but Ginger Rogers Beach still brings the boys out at Entrada and PCH.

The Birdcage, Santa Monica’s new-ish gay bar at 2640 Main Street is opening early to serve up Brunch starting at 1 PM.

If you’re still at the beach later on, Circle Bar at 2926 Main Street offers Unity Sundays, with sounds by LYT and a late night happy hour from 9-11 PM.

Closer to home…

Derek Monteiro spins at The Abbey’s Sunday Funday starting at 5 PM, and if it’s not quite buzzing yet, head next door to the always-packed Chapel Sunday.

Cool off with a $7 Alcohol Sorbet at Flaming Saddles from 12-8 PM.  It’s basically a slushee for adults, they say.

Can’t miss…

Bob the Drag Queen is at Micky’s for the television premiere of his stand up comedy show, Suspiciously Large Woman. The show starts at 8, but we imagine you’ll want to arrive early to stake out your corner of the bar!
